The more of this you include, the faster we can fix it:

• What you were doing (e.g. “asked for a Bm voicing in voice mode”)
• What you expected, and what actually happened
• Your device and OS version (e.g. Pixel 8, Android 15)
• A screenshot or screen recording, if you can
• Whether it happens every time or only sometimes

Frequently asked questions

How do I cancel my subscription? Your subscription is billed by the App Store or Google Play, so you cancel it there — not in the Stringfellow app:

• iPhone/iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Stringfellow → Cancel. (Apple’s instructions)
• Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Stringfellow → Cancel. (Google’s instructions)

You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Note that deleting your Stringfellow account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel it in the store as above.

How do I delete my account? In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. It takes effect immediately and removes your account and saved conversations. Full details on the delete your account page.

How do I restore my purchases? If you’ve reinstalled the app or moved to a new device, sign in with the same account, then use “Restore purchases” in the app’s settings. Make sure you’re signed in to the same App Store / Google account you originally subscribed with.

Does it work offline? No — the tutor needs an internet connection to think and to talk.

What devices does it run on? Recent iPhones and Android phones. If your device runs a recent version of iOS or Android, you’re fine.

Do I need to read music? No. You talk, and Stringfellow answers with plain explanations, chord diagrams, and fretboard maps. If you ever want notation or theory depth, just ask for it.

Does it listen to my playing? It listens to your voice: in voice mode you can talk to the tutor hands-free and it answers out loud. It doesn’t yet analyse the notes you play through the microphone — that’s on the roadmap. Outside an active voice session, the microphone is off.

Are the chord diagrams reliable? Yes — that’s a founding rule. Every voicing comes from a curated chord database and every scale or note map is computed by the app’s own music engine. The AI chooses what to show; it never invents fret numbers.

I’m a complete beginner / I’ve played for years — is it for me? Both. There’s no fixed course to be ahead of or behind: the tutor adapts to what you ask, from “how do I hold a G chord” to modes, triads, and the CAGED system.
