Privacy Policy

Stringfellow is made by m0ther.ai (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Stringfellow mobile app and this website. We’ve written it in plain language because you should be able to actually read it.
The short version
Stringfellow is a subscription app with accounts. Your account stores your profile, conversation history, practice progress, and the tutor’s memory of you, so the tutor can pick up where you left off. When you chat or talk with the tutor, your messages (and in voice mode, your microphone audio) are sent to the third-party AI services that power the app, and only for the purpose of answering you. Payments go through the App Store or Google Play — we never see your card details. The website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. You can delete your account and all its data from inside the app.
Your account
You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email. Your account stores:
- Profile — your name, playing level, and goals.
- Conversation history — your chats with the tutor, so they follow you across sessions and devices.
- Practice progress — what you’ve worked on, and your streaks.
- The tutor’s memory of you — things you’ve told it that are worth remembering (“small hands”, “working on barre chords”), so it doesn’t forget you between sessions.
We use this data to provide the service — nothing else.
Subscription data
Your subscription is billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us. We never receive your card or payment details. The store tells us only your entitlement status — whether your subscription is active and until when — so the app knows what to unlock.
What the app processes
Your messages. When you send a message, your conversation is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate the tutor’s reply.
Your voice. In voice mode, microphone audio streams via LiveKit to Deepgram (to turn your speech into text) and the tutor’s replies are turned into audio by ElevenLabs. Audio streams only while a voice session is active — the app is not listening otherwise. The resulting transcript is handled like any other message (see above).
Third-party services. These providers process your data to deliver the service: Anthropic (AI responses), Deepgram (speech-to-text), ElevenLabs (text-to-speech), and LiveKit (realtime audio transport). Each handles data under its own privacy policy and data-processing terms.
What the app does not do
- No advertising, no ad trackers, no sale of your data.
- No access to your payment details — the stores handle billing.
- No listening outside an active voice session.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account — and everything associated with it: profile, conversations, progress, and the tutor’s memory — from inside the app, immediately and without contacting us. Full instructions are on the delete your account page. Deleted data is purged from backups within 30 days.
If you’ve used the app without signing in, that data lives only on your device — deleting the app removes it.
The website
This site is static. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
Your choices and rights
- Stop using voice mode at any time; text chat works without a microphone.
- View and correct what the tutor remembers about you from inside the app.
- Delete your account and all its data at any time — see delete your account.
- Depending on where you live (e.g. UK/EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold — contact us and we’ll honour them.
Children
Stringfellow is not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We’ll update this page as the product grows and change the date above. Meaningful changes will be flagged on this site.
